Our &SISTERS pledge
We will do better, starting now.
In light of recent events, our collective awareness has shifted – where some of us have neglected to acknowledge black and minority voices, many of us are now recognising our own privilege and doing what we can to give equal weight to all voices. But this is just the beginning.
While celebrating diversity has always been at the heart of our business, we don’t think our media channels have featured enough content from black creatives, and we’re determined to fix that. From this moment onward, we will do everything in our power to be both anti-racist and inclusive in all aspects of our business, and we vow to deliver everyone – regardless of skin colour – period products that are better for your body, our planet and womankind.
We pledge to do better for your body. Our 100% cotton period products are made using nothing but 100% Soil Association Certified organic cotton, a natural, hypoallergenic, pH-neutral material that is gentle on the delicate tissues of the vulva. Whether you’re black, white, cisgender, trans or somewhere in between, our period products are designed to make every menstruating person’s period more comfortable.
We pledge to do better for our planet. We want to do what we can to preserve the earth’s delicate ecosystem for each and every one of its inhabitants, that’s why we’ve made it our mission to tread lightly on the environment, from supporting our growers community in rural areas through to workers rights in the production of our products, right through the distribution network to the time you buy and receive your period products.
We pledge to do better for womankind. For us, the term ‘womankind’ is meant to elicit a sense of sisterhood between women of all skin colours and backgrounds, all people who menstruate and all people who identify as female. From the beginning, we’ve been determined to do what we can to empower womankind, and we’ve vowed to donate 10% of all profits to helping end period poverty in the UK and beyond. But as our business and awareness has grown, we would like to do more to elevate non-white voices and voices within marginalised groups. Going forward, we will be working hard to highlight more black and minorities in our blog, social media and brand collaborations.
